Our Mission at Play Patrol Academy

Play Patrol Academy is part of Play Patrol Company, a leading provider of music and fitness enrichment programs for schools, childcare centers, and libraries across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland. Since its founding, Play Patrol has focused on making high-quality arts and movement education accessible to children in communities where full-time music and physical education programs are no longer available. Our mission is simple: to bring the joy of music, movement, and creativity to every child, every day.

Through Play Patrol Academy, we extend the reach of our in-person programs to teachers everywhere. Our growing library of videos and resources is designed so that any teacher—whether a trained music educator or a general classroom teacher—can confidently bring rhythm, storytelling, and movement into their classrooms. Backed by the reputation and experience of Play Patrol Company, the Academy represents the next step in our mission: to help children learn, grow, and thrive through music.

Meet Mister Boom Boom

At the heart of Play Patrol Academy is Frank Coates—better known as Mister Boom Boom. Frank is an experienced music educator, percussionist, and YouTube creator whose channel, Mister Boom Boom’s Music Room, has reached thousands of children worldwide with engaging drumming lessons, sing-alongs, and musical storytelling. His fun and approachable teaching style combines professional musicianship with an energetic presence that inspires both kids and teachers.

Experience and Credentials

Frank has spent years performing and teaching in classrooms, libraries, and community spaces, developing resources that are practical for teachers and irresistible for children. His background in percussion and early childhood education allows him to design lessons that are both musically rich and accessible to non-specialist teachers. Every resource inside Play Patrol Academy reflects his commitment to making music an easy and joyful part of daily learning.
